Gui Rei Japanese Restaurant in Toronto

Good spread of Japanese food. Have been here twice. The first time I ordered Ten Donburi, friend veggies, tempura, rice with a sweet sauce. Calamari very fresh served with pumpkin sauce, Dynamite roll my all time fav, and my friends ordered Bibimbap and Chicken Donburi and said it was alright. The second time around we ordered seafood teriyaki and Chicken Donburi and felt that the eggs served with the rice was raw'ish and did smell like it. We didn't eat much during our second visit.

I ordered via Skipthedishes. Fresh sashimi is all I'm looking for and they have that. Good quality food in the neighbourhood.

Love this place. Whether it is Japanese eats or a Korean meal you can not beat it. Get a cold Sake and some freshhhh fish to start then warm up with some world class tempura. Best tempura in the city.

I've been here twice now with friends, and both times we loved it. Service was very fast (seriously, the food came out impressively quickly) and the sushi is excellent. Even tried some non-sushi dishes on the second visit and they were delicious (spicy tofu and BiBimBap bowl). Love this type of food but sometimes it can be hit and miss in Toronto. Prices are reasonable especially for being right on the water - and the patio is great in the summertime. Would go again for a casual meal with friends or family!

Came early for lunch, got the tofu lunch combo and was delicious! Staff were very friendly and the view was nice.

Closed on Tuesdays! Really nice stuff. The LA ribs are amazing, as is the spicy chicken. Get the lunch box, which comes with lots of extras, plus terrific tempura. Very bright with lots of natural lighting. Great for take-out and eating in. Friendly staff.

Best sushi place along Queens Quay and a very popular local hangout. If you like spicy fish soup try the Nagasaki Raman. Dinner prices here are much higher than the lunch menu for essentially the same portions, so I'd recommend lunch time dinning for the budget conscious.

Decent fish quality, tuna was a bit questionable but everything else are great, the service was slow at the beginning because we caught them at a peak time, then the waitress saved the day by apologizing for the delay, multiple times

Few rolls so far are not the best quality It is difficult to spoil Philadelphia roll, but this restaurant made it happened. I needed to have a magnifier to see a salmon inside

I live close so I'm in here often. The food has always been delicious and of high quality. Love all the Japanese and Korean options! The service is always very friendly and quick, would and have recommended Guirei often!

Been here four or five times.. not the best sushi.. I always feel like the sushi is not fresh based on the texture of the rice and the way the vegetables look and taste..but it's close and service is semi-ok so we have returned

Great rolls and presentation right by the lake with nice sidewalk patio. However, they need to learn how to cut sashimi properly. It was a bit of a hack job.

Love this place! Great food selection, fresh sushi, awesome Korean dishes, and they give delicious mini starters before your meal. Just overall fantastic!

Great little spot for some Japanese food. The food used to be better, though perhaps there was management or chef changes over the last few years. Staff are always polite and check on you without being a bother during the meal. Price is good for what you get, and so close to everything in town, but set close to the lake.

Consistently great experience. Food is always fresh (green dragon rolls are bomb), staff is friendly. We frequent this place almost 1x week, and have yet to be even slightly disappointed.

I love their sushi, sashimi and tempura. Oh my god their tempra is the best in Toronto, by far the BEST! And I’m from Japan to add any credibility.

The food was pretty good but the best part were the portions. The dinner meal combinations of sushi and tempura we're really generous portions for a great price that isn't easy to always find in Toronto. Would definitely come back.

Okay sushi and sashimi. A wide variety of Japanese and korean food. Wide range of sushi and sashimi combos as well. Pretty expensive though.

Incredible sushi for an awesome price! I just ordered takeout and got the Maki Tray and it was filled with so many maki rolls! High quality, very clean and they are adhering to the important health measures in place during Covid-19. Great prices and amazing customer service. Highly recommend!

The sashimi is not fresh and the price is high ( $23). I can’t tell the difference between this raw fish to the one at all you can eat restaurant. Not come back again.

Fresh ingredients, great atmosphere. If you're looking for a wide variety of excellent Japanese food, this should be your staple.

Came here for dinner with my family, and it was wonderful. Highly recommend the Guirei Roll, it had quite literally everything I would ever want in a roll, and unagi tempura, which was surprisingly delicious. Do yourself a favour and go here for dinner. Even if you don't like seafood, the bulgogi is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and utterly delicious.
